Chris Jennette was raised by Christian parents who took him to church every time the doors were open. When he was six years old his father started a church in their home originally called Jackson Bridge Road Baptist Church, but later changed the name to New Life Baptist Church.It was in that church that young Chris Jennette knew he was a sinner and needed a Savior. He asked his father to show him how to be saved two times only to be put off because his father wanted to make sure he knew what he was doing, but this did not stop Chris. He knew if he died without Christ he would have went to hell so he asked his father again on November 18th, 1978 and that evening the Holy Spirit led his father to know that this boy knew exactly what he was doing. His father took the Bible and led him to Christ there at the kitchen table. His next decision came when he attended Anchored Christian School. This is where he got to know his future wife Christa Adamson. They were married on July 19, 1997. During those days at Anchored he began to feel God's tugging on his heart to be what he never thought he could be, a preacher.It was after a chapel service that he finally yielded to the Lord's call on his life to be a preacher on February 2, 1990. After graduating from high school in 1991 he attended Hyles-Anderson College, Western Kentucky University, Tennessee Temple University, Southern Indiana Baptist College, and finally graduated from Crown College in Powell, Tennessee in May of 2000. He just recently graduated from the Calvary Bible College (Which is a 3 year in depthChronological study of the Bible) that he incorporated into our church which is a satellite school from the Faith Bible Institute out of Monroe, Louisiana. When he first came to Calvary, the church was on the brink of closing its doors. He preached his first message as pastor on January 7, 2001.Since then the Lord has performed a wedding between pastor and people. The church has witnessed steady growth withthe Lord's help.The Lord has blessed with many being saved and joining the church. Praise the Lord! The future for Calvary is brighter than its ever been! To God be the glory, great things He has done!

As Pastor, I understand my responsibility is first to my family and then to our church. The Lord has blessed me with a wonderful wife and some terrific children. Even if I wasn't the pastor of this church, I would want my family to be in it to be influenced by the godly people who make up our church. |
